Product details
Feroza is the quietest of the three Baithak designs. A small repeating motif in sky blue and navy, picked out with touches of pink, runs edge to edge across an ivory ground.
Up close it reads as a fine, even pattern; from across the room it settles into a soft blue texture that sits easily beside wood, stone and white walls.
In homes across Pakistan and the North, the baithak is the sitting room kept for guests: the best-kept room in the house, furnished with the family's finest cushions and embroidered covers.
Each Baithak piece is named for a colour. Feroza takes its name from turquoise, a stone long prized across Persia and the subcontinent for its clear, calm blue.

Craft
Every stitch is counted and placed by hand by women artisans in Gilgit-Baltistan, using the same cross-stitch tradition found on caps, collars and household textiles across the North.
The cover takes approximately 90 hours to embroider. No machine is involved in the embroidery, and no two pieces are exactly alike.
Care
Hand wash cold, inside out, with mild detergent.
Do not soak, bleach or tumble dry.
Dry flat in the shade.
Iron on the reverse only, never directly over the embroidery.
Dry cleaning recommended for heavy soiling.
